The event took place in Fujian Agriculture And Forestry University from June 4 to 5. There were more than 40 contestants from 21 universities and colleges in Fujian joining the wrestling. Whitney (Guanwen) and Shelia (Shaojing) represented our department to fight there and they both excelled. Whitney received the second prize and Shelia the third. That was the best results so far for our department. Yet, it was noticed that Whitney has the potential for winning the top prize.
The formats of the competition are as follows: each contestant must conduct a 20-minute complete lesson that consists a lead-in, presentation, practice and wrapping up n so on and each contestant is supposed to conclude his or her lessons only when they exceed 15 minutes after their classes begin. Otherwise they will lose some advantage. The judging standards are based on the teaching contents(20%), teaching procedures(40%), teaching effect(20%) and the overall qualities(20%) of the contestants. We hope our teachers will be prepared and achieve better results in the next contest.
Besides, Mike, our American teacher also went together to observe the contest and he found many interesting things and gave good advice to our contestants too. The experience will help him to coach our contestants better in future.
